At the time of our test, Betonic had over 25 sports on offer, including not only “King Football” and the other popular team sports such as handball, basketball, ice hockey or handball, but also plenty of tennis bets, which also include tournaments from the second-class Challenger Tour and even the ITF level below.
Fringe sports such as cricket, snooker or table tennis can also be found in the betting tree on the left side of the homepage. In order to provide a bit of variety and to cover further customer wishes, Betonic also offers bets on areas such as politics (e.g. the US election) and shows (e.g. the Oscars) in the “Special bets” section. In addition, the friends of horse and greyhound racing also get their money’s worth, because Betonic has both in its program.
But unsurprisingly, Betonic also puts its main focus not on the racetracks of this world, but on the green lawn. The soccer betting offer ranges from the German leagues to the European divisions and games from Asia, Africa or Australia. Of course, the popular club competitions like Champions League or Europa League can be found right at the top of the betting tree and are also visually highlighted with an orange star so that everyone can find their favorite team or league to bet on quickly and easily.
In Germany, you have the option to bet on matches from the 1st Bundesliga all the way down to the Oberliga, and the over 230 betting markets offered per match in the Bundesliga are absolutely competitive in the market. The breadth and depth of betting options also leaves nothing to be desired at Betonic, as all relevant and popular betting markets such as “over/under goals”, double chance or handicap bets are available.
There is a plus point for the fact that Betonic had almost 300 bets on offer in the test period for the eSports area, which is increasingly in demand, especially among the younger target group, which is more than at many other bookmakers. In addition to the well-known classics like Counter-Strike, Dota 2 or League of Legends, StarCraft, King of Glory and eSoccer are also comprehensively covered.
In addition to the large variety of eSports betting, the offer for betting on virtual sports – for which there is a separate menu item in the top navigation bar – is also impressive with almost 20 sports. Certainly, not everyone is a fan of betting on virtual soccer matches, tennis and table tennis matches or dog racing. But those who like to bet a bit of small change on virtual sports have plenty of opportunities to do so at Betonic.
Live betting: calendar, multi-view, numerous sports and markets, but no streams
In terms of popularity among bettors, live betting has now taken over first place – overtaking pre-match betting. Many customers want to watch the match first, which of course has a corresponding influence on the odds and is the biggest attraction for many to place their bets live.
At Betonic, you can get to the live betting area by clicking on the LIVE menu item, which is placed at the very top of the left navigation bar and marked with a red circle. There you will find, among other things, a calendar with the start times of the upcoming live events, which is a helpful feature for bet planning.
All sports events are listed in a clear list for quick betting, and you can switch back and forth between the individual sports with a click, which makes it easier to use.
You can choose between an “event view” for one match – with statistics window, virtual pitch and live ticker, which changes in real time and is also visually successful – and the “multi-view”, where you as a customer can then follow several events in parallel. In our eyes, this is a great and customer-friendly option, which, by the way, not every betting provider has by far, because it allows you to react to changing game situations at lightning speed without annoying clicking.
Soccer is also number 1 when it comes to live betting, because a large number of the games are also transferred to the live betting area by Betonic with the kick-off, so that you have numerous betting options while you are following the game. However, you need a different medium for this, because Betonic unfortunately does not (yet) have a livestream to offer, which tarnishes the overall impression in this section somewhat.

Betting odds: Overall in the midfield, with outliers up and down
The higher the odds, the bigger the profit – especially in the long run, it becomes clear that a look at the odds level definitely makes sense before deciding for or against registering with a bookmaker.
In terms of the sports betting industry, an odds ratio of 95% or more is considered good, while anything below 91% can be classified as below average. In our Betonic test, we were able to exceed the “95 limit” several times, especially in the area of soccer (e.g. in the Premier League) or even in tennis.
Unfortunately, however, the odds level in the 1st Bundesliga – the absolute top league for betting, especially for many German customers – is significantly lower, while in the 2nd league an odds average of around 93% is absolutely competitive. Overall, we see Betonic in this category in relation to the numerous competitors but only in the midfield.
Security and seriousness: important standards are absolutely given
Betonic is licensed by the gambling authority in Curaçao and must therefore implement the corresponding laws and guidelines. For example, it is a clear requirement that the bookmaker keeps customer funds separate from its own business accounts. The same applies to players’ personal data and banking details, which must be kept secure and SSL-encrypted from third parties and kept confidential at all times.
The T&Cs can be found at the bottom of the website, plus there are separate sections on data protection and responsible gaming, which is also an absolute must for a trustworthy and transparent provider these days.
But there is unfortunately also a big drawback, because at the time of our test, the complete “service information section” was only available in English. Here, a translation should be made up for as soon as possible if Betonic wants to establish itself in the German market.
Especially when it comes to sensitive and technical topics such as limits, player protection or data security, this does not make a good impression, as not everyone understands the English texts as well as they should, which is likely to lead to a certain uncertainty and skepticism towards Betonic among many potential new customers.
Payment methods: Free and a good mix, but unfortunately PayPal is missing
Of course, if you want to bet at Betonic, you first have to deposit funds into your player account. Some popular methods such as Skrill, EcoPayz, Klarna and Neteller are available for this purpose. In addition, the classic credit cards can also be used or a bank transfer (but takes several days) can be made, even the Paysafecard, which is very popular with many sports bettors, is available.
But unfortunately PayPal is missing, which is a competitive disadvantage especially on the German market. On the other hand, it is positive to mention that Betonic does not charge any fees for deposits and withdrawals.
Customer service: German chat and e-mail, but also the FAQ's only in English
In the chat, which can be found at the bottom right of the website with its own speech bubble icon, questions and problems can be quickly clarified with a contact person. The chat is available around the clock and is also offered in German, so that Betonic is well positioned here, and you can also contact customer service by e-mail.
In addition, there is a FAQ section, with which some betting fans can perhaps answer one or the other question themselves – as long as they speak English, because the German translation is still missing here as well.
Usability and design: Modern and mobile-friendly betting, but no dedicated app
In the desktop version, Betonic collects plus points with a modern design, a high-contrast color scheme – the main colors are dark gray, orange and white – and user-friendly navigation.
Particularly with a new bookmaker, the first impression is also visually important, and good usability also helps new customers find their way around a new platform and feel comfortable in the long term.
Digitization is not only an important topic in the election campaign, but a new provider must also answer the question of how it will enable its customers to bet on the move via smartphone.
