Many sports betting friends ask themselves again and again why their bets were lost. What seemed to be a sure win on paper (because you bet on a favourite against an underdog), turned out quite differently than you thought.

For all those who have started betting or are only losing, I would like to recommend my 7 rules. If you follow these rules, you have already won 70% of your bets!

Rule 1: Don’t bet on odds of less than 1.20!

Explanation: Odds up to 1.20 often tempt as a safe betting event. When the favourite team is playing away and has odds of 1.20, these games often kill the ticket with a hard-fought draw..

Rule 2: Bet on favourites only if they are the home team!

Explanation: Statistics show that favourites draw 70% of the time away from home!

Rule 3: If you bet high on more than 4 games, play only system!

Explanation: You only play high stakes in David vs Goliath games. But everyone knows that the David can also win, therefore with stakes from 100€ only as a system tip. Because here one or the other tip can be wrong – Conclusion: Often there is still a profit, only very rarely is everything gone.
Rule No. 4: Analyse the match beforehand!

Explanation: Many teams in the middle and lower third of the table are typical draw teams, playing 70% draws against favourites.

Rule No. 5: Only bet on draws on system tickets!

Explanation: Predicting a draw is much riskier than predicting a win or a loss. If you want to make the most of the draw odds (usually from 3.00 upwards), you should play at least system 3 out of 6, because then you can even expect to win if you get 3 draws right.

Rule No. 6: Bet against underdog teams that have player absences!

Explanation: This note again borrows from the pre-match analysis. Pre-match information is the most important thing in betting. If underdog teams do not have their regular players, if the hopefuls of underdog teams are suspended for the upcoming match with yellow or red cards, the bet with the tip on the favourite is already won by 90%.

Rule 7: Bet result tips only on favourite teams playing at home!

Explanation: A bet on a result tip is only interesting if the favourite is playing as a home team against an underdog. Since in such games a home win follows 75% of the time, it is easy to bet on the most common results here – 1:0, 2:0, 2:1
